Every love story is beautiful, but ours is our favorite. Here is a little of how two paths became one.

1. April 2024

   How we met

   After meeting virtually through a dating app, we met in person for the first time for a dinner date in Fort Worth. We both experienced an instant feeling of connection (which Mason would never write if it weren't actually true...). Although neither of us went into the evening with any preconceived expectations or intentions to jump into a serious relationship, it was clear to both of us that that was where we were headed.

2. December 2024

   Moving in

   Following months of dating and generally only getting to see each other on weekends — as Mason lived in Dallas, and Zack in Fort Worth — we moved in together just before Christmas. With each of us bringing two dogs of our own into the relationship, we expected some initial chaos (to put it mildly) during this time; luckily, the blending of our 'families' ended up being mostly smooth and seamless.

3. September 2025

   The first adventure

   We went to Seattle for our first trip together. It was during this trip that Mason knew that he would be proposing to Zack in the near future.

4. November 2025

   The proposal

   After weeks of Mason planning out the proposal, we went to the Dallas arboretum for a fun day trip. Mason knew exactly where he wanted to propose, but when he saw that that specific area of the park was closed off — because of course it was — he had to quickly improvise. Before Zack knew what was happening, Mason was on one knee — and relieved that he had managed to keep the proposal a legitimate surprise (Mason was certain that picking Zack's clothes out for him that day was going to be a giveaway...). Later that night, we were both surprised by an en-gay-gement party thrown by our friends.
